I grew up near Shepherd; I was a country kid.
My brother, sisters and I spent so much of our childhood outside playing either back to the river, in the barn making forts, or walking down to my grandparents farm looking for something to do.
My family loved playing softball and volleyball together on Sunday afternoons. I graduated from Shepherd High School and then attended CMU, Fire Up Chips! Since graduation, I have returned to school to earn my master's degree in middle level education and continue to take college courses.
This is the beginning of my ninth year of teaching. I've had the pleasure of working in five different grade levels ranging from second to sixth. When I started in the district, I was teaching fourth grade. I had the opportunity to follow my students to Fancher to teach fifth and then the following year to teach 6th grade. I spent 4 years in 6th grade working with a wonderful team of teachers. When the opportunity arose to return to Vowles as a 4th grade teacher, I grabbed it up. I am excited about the upcoming school year and the 4th grade adventures waiting for me.

My husband, Monte is an electrician. Monte and I love to spend time outside. We like to canoe, grill out, ride our Ranger back to the woods and we also like to travel to my parent’s cabin up in the U.P. and spend time at the cottage on the lake. In the winter we like to snowmobile and go sledding. We are definitely kids at heart.
I have three children. My son, Marshall is five. He loves playing outside and gets very sad when it is time to come inside for the day. I enjoy sharing stories about Marshall with my students. He is learning so much each day and makes me laugh. He likes being considered one of the big kids. He will be joining the Fancher team as a kindergartener this fall. My daughter, Reagan is 3 years old. Reagan is a social butterfly. Reagan is either the happiest girl in the world or struggling not to cry. My youngest child is Emery, she is about 18 months old. Emery likes to watch her brother and sister play and has started to throw her weight around. I can't wait for her to be part of their fun crew.
